Darren Lubotsky is an associate professor in the economics department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He also has appointments in Illinois' School of Labor and Employment Relations.
He does research on immigration, the economics of childhood issues, and employee wages and benefits.
He is a research affiliate at the Joint Center for Poverty Research, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago; and the National Poverty Center at the University of Michigan. He is an external research fellow at the Center for Research and Analysis of Migration at University College, London.
Lubotsky received his bachelor's degree in economics and political economy summa cum laude from Washington University, St. Louis; and his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.
