Jesse Rothstein is an associate professor of public policy and economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
He does research on a wide range of topics, including education and schools, race, tax policy, and unemployment insurance.
In 2009-10, he was chief economist at the U.S. Department of Labor and senior economist for the Council of Economic Advisers 2009-10. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Rothstein received his doctorate in economics and master's degree in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Harvard.
