Randy Albelda is a professor of economics and Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Social Policy at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is a member of the Labor and Employment Relations Association.
Albelda writes on poverty, paid family-leave policies, racial and gender divisions in occupations, and the distribution of family income and earnings. She also writes and edits books and essays on lone motherhood, feminist economics and labor; poverty and welfare reform; wage inequality and women's poverty.
Albelda is a research affiliate and associate at the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington, D.C. She is an associate editor and is on the editorial board of the journal Feminist Economics and an editorial associate on Dollars and Sense magazine.
She received her doctorate in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and her bachelor's degree in economics from Smith College.
