Biography

Ryan Hammond is a doctoral candidate at the Instititute for Work and Employment Research at the MIT Sloan School of Management. His EPRN sponsor is Tom Kochan.

Hammond's current dissertation work examines the social processes that help determine the attributes of emerging occupations in new markets. The setting for his dissertation is the emerging market for residential energy retrofits and the effort to create sustainable green jobs. 

Prior to entering the MIT doctoral program, Hammond graduated with bachelor's and master's degrees from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.

After graduation from Cornell, Ryan worked in human resources in the pharmaceutical industry in both the United States and France.
