Sanford M. Jacoby is the Howard Noble Distinguished Professor at UCLA Anderson School of Management and holds appointments in UCLA's history and public policy departments.
He uses comparative, historical and statistical methods to analyze employers, labor market institutions and corporate governance. His research interests include business history, corporate governance, Europe, Japan, labor history, and labor-market analysis.
His most recent book is The Embedded Corporation: Corporate Governance and Employment Relations in Japan and the United States (2005).
Jacoby earned his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley; his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania, both in economics.
