Scott Shane is the A. Malachi Mixon III Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies and economics department chair at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management.
Shane is the author of 10 books, including Fool's Gold: The Truth Behind Angel Investing in America (2009) and Technology Strategy for Managers and Engineers (2008) and more than 60 scholarly articles on entrepreneurship and innovation management.
Shane is a board member of JumpStart Inc., Cleveland, Ohio, and a member of NorthCoast Angel Fund, also of Cleveland. He received the Global Entrepreneurship Reseach Award from the Swedish Foundation for Small Business Reserach in 2009 and best business book awards from Inc Magazine and the Toronto Globe and Mail in 2008.
Shane received his A.B. from Brown University, master's degrees from Georgetown and the University of Pennsylvania and doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
