Till von Wachter is an associate professor of economics at Columbia University. He is a faculty research fellow of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research associate for the Center for Economic Policy Research.
He was also a visiting scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation in 2010 and 2011. von Wachter's fields of interest include labor economics, the economics of aging, personnel economics, and macroeconomics.
He earned his master's degree in economics from the Economic University of Bonn, Germany; his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley. Von Wachter is topic leader of the EPRN Unemployment Jobs Deficit/Growth research cluster.
