Labor Department's 75th Anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act

I received an email from from a student, John Gaal, in a Harvard Trade Union class I taught in 2009. Gall, who is Director of Training and Workforce Development Programs in St. Louis, sent materials about the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act. The Department of Labor's celebration of programs like this represent innovative and creative solutions to our nation's immediate and longer-term unemployment problems I have written about as the "New Compact" of private businesses, government, unions coming together to provide the good jobs our workers and our nation need.
